Sample Quidditch Game Scenario
Official *Reid circled the field waiting for the match to begin.* "Welcome everyone! We'll begin the match today between Gryffindor and Slytherin after a player for each team arrives, one of them being a chaser!"
Gryffindor Chaser #1 *Betty flew to the center of the field on her Nimbus 2000 and waited for the Slytherin team to arrive!* "I am ready to begin the match whenever you are, Reid!"
Slytherin Keeper *Todd flew to the three hoops at Slytherin's end of the field. Since Gryffindor was the first team to have a chaser arrive, they would begin with quaffle possession. He would have to guard his hoops until others from his team were to arrive.* "Go ahead Reid!*
Official *Reid released the snitch and the bludgers. He tossed the quaffle in the air and flew above everyone to watch the match from above.*
Slytherin Chaser #1 *Bobby quick zoomed over and caught the quaffle in the air. Slytherin was now in possession of the ball.*
Gryffindor Chaser #1 *Betty scowled after seeing Bobby get the quaffle. She followed him, right on his tail wherever he went.*
Slytherin Chaser #1 *Bobby continued to fly towards the hoops and as he approached, he made a quick shot towards the right goal hoop.*

Now, as we look back and notice the past scenario, this post will help you notice a few things...
First: As an official opens the game, he waits for a few things to happen. A player for each team must be present, and a chaser for at least one of the teams must be present.
Next: The official starts the game by throwing the ball into the air. If more than one chaser is present, the first to post after the official throws the ball in the air gets the quaffle.
Also keep in mind that from the point where a chaser gets the ball, he/she must wait at least three pages until they are allowed to attempt a shot.
If at any point in time, the ball is passed to another player, the person passing is not allowed to say that he handed it off or threw in into the second persons lap. They must say they threw it "toward" the other person, as this is a chance for interception. If a player for the other team is quick enough, they may catch the pass before the second player has an opportunity to recieve the ball.
Once the ball is shot towards the goal, the game can no longer advance. Posting may continue, as post counts will reveal who catches the snitch, but there will be no more interaction with the quaffle. The way it is decided whether the quaffle scores or not is dependant upon who is present. Either the keeper must say whether or not the shot makes it, or if the keeper is not present, the team captain may say that the ball made it through and allow the game to continue. Note that the captain may not announce that the ball did not go through.
From the point that the shot is announced, three pages of posting must occur before another shot may be made. This continues until the official decides that the snitch has been spotted. Once the snitch is spotted, only seekers may now post. These posts do not count for anything, but will keep the game going until it is decided which team gets the snitch.

Who gets the snitch is dependant upon many things, the most important of them being which team posted more frequently. A sample scoring would be based on many things, all which will count towards the quidditch up. So many points are awarded for the brooms players are using, if they have their quidditch supplies, the posts that were made, and then last minute points ae taken away for the breaking of rules and such. The amount of points earned in the game is factored in, then whoever has the most points gets the snitch.
After all of that is done, each team gets to keep whatever points they earned, and at the end of the games, whichevwer team has earned the most cumulative points get the cup!
